GRAMMY’S: RED CARPET BEST DRESSED

Hello Fashionistas,

Long time no share/post in which I’m sorry for taking so much time off but I’ve been getting some much needed TLC and family time in, just a rough couple weeks. But I’m back and ready to dive into some blogging and talk about this Grammy’s red carpet even though I missed it and highlights from the show that I want to talk about with you fashion dolls in case you missed any parts of the event.

RED CARPET BEST DRESSED

                                                                       H. E. R

I love everything about this kimono dress the colors and all the detail is amazing ! And looks gorgeous and those leopard print heels give it a very unique look that I really like, H. E. R is definitely fashion inspiration.

                                                                       Rosalia
Leather isn’t really something that I wear much at all, but this looks good on her. I like the attention at the waist line with the triple belts, the asymmetrical fringe line is what makes this super cute. She is also fashion inspiration, because I would definitely be happy to find a shirt similar to her look, just amazing.

JoJo
At first I didn’t recognize who she was until I saw her name and was shocked, because she looks completely different from when she was younger. Of course the sparkle caught my attention, but this is a sexy fashion risk with the super high side split giving us major Angelina Jolie vibes her gurl yass and the high thigh chain at the top of the split is cute.

Priyanka Chopra
She’s always on my best dressed lists and this gown has high quality details, I’m sure this was fun to make for the designers. The diamonds sparkle, the train is chic and the fringe sleeves are vintage and it’s my favorite look of the night. Of course she looks amazing I don’t expect anything less from her since she always looks amazing.

Danielle Jonas
I love the sparkle, train and side split. She looks great.

Lizzo
Just stunning and elegant, I love sparkle and split LOL I’m in love with her bringing the vintage chic having the fur cover up. Gorgeous !

Camila Cabello
Even though it’s a black gown I think she looks great and love the mesh tail and sparkles.

Ariana Grande
She reminds me of Cinderella in this gown and gloves matching, but it’s definitely chic and cute. Gorgeousness.

MOST MEMORABLE MOMENTS FROM THE SHOW

Alicia Keys hosted for the second year in a row, which I was happy about because she did such a good job last time. As I’m sure by now you know about the tragic death of Kobe Bryant and his 13 year old daughter Gianna along with nine others died in a helicopter crash Sunday morning on their way to Black Mamba sports complex in Thousand Oaks. Alicia Keys made one of the best heart felt and thoughtful tributes to him and what made it even more special was that the event was being held in Staples Center.

Alicia Keys performed the song “It’s so hard to say goodbye to yesterday”with R&B group Boys ll Men and it was such a magical moment, everyone in silence thinking about the loves taken tragically the same day of the accident and only one day after Lebron James passed Kobe’s career scoring points record. And it truly touched me during Alicia’s opening of the show she said a little something about what happened and did it with so much love, respect and tenderness it was just beautiful, the following is the quote of her tribute speech

"Kobe and his daughter Gianna, and all of those that have been tragically lost today are in our spirits, in our hearts and our prayers today.... share our strength and our support with their families," said Keys. "We never imagined in a million years we would have to start the show like this...Music is  the most healing thing in the world, so let’s get some healing going on right now."

DJ Khaled, John Legend and Meek Mill, plus Kirk Franklin and Ricch, paid tribute to both Nipsey Hussle and Kobe Bryant during their performances some of Nipsey’s hits were recreated. Meek Mill and Ricch opened up the performance with what seemed to me to be a new tribute song and that was followed by the other performers singing the song “higher” and closing out their tribute to two impactful figures in LA culture with this photo of both of them.

Nipsey Hussle  also won best rap performance for his hit song “Racks in the middle”  and his family accepted his award Lauren London along with his Grandma spoke, but the following quote is from Lauren’s speech and it was a moving moment to have his Grandma speak at the event on his behalf.

Lauren London Speech quote “I speak on behalf of our family. In honor of Nip, who was a phenomenal vessel. Nip did it not only for the awards, but for the people and God allowed him to use this music to speak truth, give his wisdom and something that we will forever be able to live with”

Lil Nas x made a subtle tribute to Kobe during his performance of his hit song Old town road, while having cartoons playing on a TV screen behind him.

AWARD WINNERS

1.Billie Elish won 5 awards making history by winning the most major award categories

2.Nipsey Hussle won Best rap performance

3.Lil Nas X featuring Billy Ray Cyrus won pop duo and group performance for Old town road

4.Lizzo won pop solo performance “truth hurts”

5.Rosalia won Latin rock, Urban or alternative album “El mar querer”

6.Michelle Obama won spoken word album for her audio book Becoming

Over all it was a decent show in which I enjoyed the performances and the tributes to Kobe.
